My name is Fatmah El-Ghandour,I'm an Electrical & Control Engineer, graduated from the Arab Academy for Science Technology and Maritime Transport in 2018. My graduation project was implementing an advanced multi-function protection relay.
I am an eager person to learn and to make. This is a place where I can post all my small achievements. Hopefully a place to find some cool stuff!

Do You Know What Can You Do In a FABLAB?

Almost Anything!
A fab lab is a small-scale workshop offering digital fabrication. A fab lab is typically equipped with an array of flexible computer-controlled tools that cover several different length scales and various materials, with the aim to make "almost anything".
You can find very cool tools and machinery like:
-
Mainly, a rapid prototyper: typically a 3D printer of plastic or plaster parts
-
3-axis CNC machines: 3 or more axes, computer-controlled subtractive milling or turning machines
-
Printed circuit board milling or etching: two-dimensional, high precision milling to create circuit traces in pre-clad copper boards
-
Microprocessor and digital electronics design, assembly, and test stations
-
Cutters, for sheet material: laser cutter, plasma cutter, water jet cutter, knife cutter.
Digital Fabrication
Digital fabrication is a type of manufacturing process where the machine used is controlled by a computer.
The purpose of digital modeling and fabrication is to allow designers to create physical models that can be used to test the success of a design. Digital modeling and fabrication's potential uses span a variety of industries, from manufacturing to architecture to fashion.

The first Maker Faire took place in the Californian city of San Mateo. Dale Dougherty thought that the time had come to bring together the people who designed and made things at home with the help of new digital tools and using the knowledge stored on the Internet.
Dougherty created the first publication on the Internet with commercial support and was the first to offer those pages to advertisers. A milestone that put an end to the traditional business model of the media. That was more than 20 years ago and the media are still lost in the maze.
Five years after Dougherty launched Make magazine, Chris Anderson wrote in Wired, the publication of which he was the editor, an article entitled “Atoms are the new bits”.
A makerspace is a collaborative work space inside a school, library or separate public/private facility for making, learning, exploring and sharing that uses high tech to no tech tools.
They provide hands on learning, help with critical thinking skills and even boost self-confidence. Some of the skills that are learned in a makerspace pertain to electronics, 3d printing, 3D modeling, coding, robotics and even woodworking, Makerspaces are also fostering entrepreneurship and are being utilized as incubators and accelerators for business startups.
